Our topic for our first Spring Term is ‘Under the Canopy’ which focuses on Deforestation and Rainforests.
We are exploring what life in the rainforest entails and the fascinating layers of the canopy. Additionally, we will be looking at the devastating impact of deforestation and the impact that this has on our world. Forests are the lungs of the planet and we will be investigating what this means for the future of Earth.
Our class story is ‘Journey to the River Sea’ by Eva Ibotson. This inspiring story follows Maia as she ventures into the Amazon Rainforest to start a new life – but, adventure isn’t all that is in store for her!
P.E Kit requirements:
-Sky Blue Biscovey Academy t-shirt
-Navy Blue Biscovey Academy hoody
-Black shorts (black tracksuit bottoms can be worn for outside P.E. when the weather is cold)

Homework:
Weekly:
All children are expected to read daily, with this being recorded in their personal reading logs. We expect them to learn their weekly spellings to prepare for a test in school on a Friday. Each week, children will have a reading, SPaG and maths activity to complete in their CGP workbooks.
Half-termly:
There are a selection of activities to support the foundation subjects for children to complete at home.
Homework will be handed out on a Friday and will be expected to be returned to school by the following Wednesday.
